This handsome sailor doesn't seem to mind being spanked.

What a good sport!  These are images from the old, wonderfully homoerotic rituals of crossing the equator, which unfortunately are a thing of the past, even all male ships are a thing of the past.  Seems like back then even straight guys were a lot better at gay stuff than gay men are now.

And after the spanking, the simulated sex!  And then another spanking...

The paddles were made from firehoses.  Anybody ever been spanked with something like that?

From what I've read, in most situations like this, there was a strict rule you couldn't hit anybody anywhere but on the ass, which is obviously absolutely correct.  Modern gang initiations often involve punching, etc., and no spanking, which I attribute to homophobia.

  1. It really is sad. Homophobia is what caused the downfall of fraternities, and the intimate initiations and rites of passage from our military's past. Men who sought these organizations for unspoken yet desperately needed intimacy with other men...the ritualistic and serious nature of the spanking and paddling, which provided much needed intimacy, both in initiation and when doling out punishment, was replaced first by making it a joke, then altogether with more and more dangerous and even deadly scenarios...all to ultimately prove that they aren't 'gay'. It's gotten so bad we are on the verge of fraternities being banned altogether. Men need and crave intimacy with other men, and it's a need that is buried under miles of homophobia imposed on us by (sadly) one another. In an ideal world, it wouldn't matter whether you were gay or straight. It would be about male bonding, and intimate discipline.
